Geospatial science becomes more important in our daily life; planning our travels, weather forecast, and so on. Spatial information is essential for many sectors such as agriculture, urban planning, resource (forest, water, minerals) management and to design systems to mitigate the impact of climate change and disasters. The challenges of today's global e.g. rising temperatures, droughts, flooding, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, air pollution, etc. all happen simultaneously and their origin and consequences often have a geographic overlap. Geospatial sciences help us to understand better the complex relationships and also to find solutions for better decision-making.

The Netherlands – Thailand Space Technology Forum 2023 focuses on the contribution of space technology to a more resilient agriculture and food system. Geospatial experts have an important role to play in making this happen. The Netherlands is happy to start and continue the collaboration with Thailand to explore and implement new opportunities space technology offers to support resilient agriculture and food systems.
