2011 Dissertation Award

Dr. Panichpapiboon received the 2011 Dissertation Award from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), in recognition of his doctoral dissertation entitled “Practical Design Issues in Ad Hoc Wireless Networks: Transmit Power, Topology, and Routing”. The award was presented to him by His Excellency Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, on February 2, 2011. Dr. Panichpapiboon’s dissertation investigated on the fundamental design issues in ad hoc wireless networks. It helped a network designer make a proper decision on: how to choose an optimal power, how to choose a right topology, and how to select a proper routing strategy. His dissertation was supervised by Prof. Ozan Tonguz of Carnegie Mellon University.
