My name is Jana Makhanova. I was born in Russia in 1983. I left Russia when I was eleven years old and moved with my family to Thailand. (see my Dad Home Page) My Dad is professor in a University. My Mum is a teacher of German and English. She teaches children at a Language Center. I used to go to Thai College for two years, so I'm fluent in Thai language. I can speak, read and even write Thai, which is (believe me!) very difficult. Although now I go to a Russian school I continue to study Thai language and culture.
   In my free time I love to read a good book. My favorite writer is L.Tolstoi. I'm completely abscessed by his novels, especially "Anna Karenina". Also I love music.
I like listening to the radio and relax.  My favorite groups are "No Doubt", "Savage Garden" and ... well... I have too many... I can play the piano and the guitar. I love  piano more than guitar, probably because I have known this instrument much longer then guitar.
  Every Saturday I go with my parents to the cinema. Probably I have seen every single movie. My favorite ones are "Brave Heart" and "Titanic"
I have seen those tree times each!! Well... my favorite actor is Leonardo DiCaprio. He is quite cute.  I love the "Simpsons". All my family love them!!
It's weird- I'm not mad about watching basketball but I enjoy playing it. I also love playing volleyball and badminton. I play these games a lot and I go wild every time -it's a game, but it's there to be won.
  It's hard to be on top of things all the time, so when I need a boost, I go to my Mum and Dad. They know me the best. Sometimes to give myself  a confidence boost I simply go out and buy myself some clothes. I wear what I know looks good. My motto is live life to the fun and life each day as it comes,'cause life is great.
   Spiders! I always get scared when I see a spider. They really frighten me. About a year ago, I spotted a spider in my bedroom just above the door. It watched me from there ready to jump. Eye-to-eye contact lasted for ages. Finally I shouted: " Mum!!! Spi-daaaar!!!!!" So the rescue team (Mum with a newspaper) came - and I was finally free.
  I'm not a moody person, but I'm awful if I don't get enough sleep. Usually I sleep till 9.30.
