International Council of Shopping Centers(ICSC) ได้จัดการประกวด ICSC International Design and Development Awards ประจำปี 2540 ซึ่งเป็นปีที่ 21 แล้ว ในระยะเวลาการรับสมัคร 18 เดือน ตั้งแต่ 1 มกราคม 2538 ถึง 30 มิถุนายน 2539 โดยมีผู้ที่ส่งผลงานเข้าประกวด 50 ชิ้นจากทั่วโลก
